Yellow and black it is then!!!!

By the way does anyone know if you can use an electric fuel pump in the seniors rather than the cra**y mechanical one?

are you going to used a ported 12G940 head?? I used to have a Cooper S 1340 and got major power gains from a lot of work on the ports. its really worth the time and effort if your heads not been done.

Ported heads is a no no in the ‘rule book’?

That colour will only slow you down lol!

I’m not sure about electric pumps, need to look into it my self as my mechanical fuel pump is only about 1 cm away from my exhaust manifold!
A slight fuel leak and its gona get nice and toasty.

The standard Austin 1300GT used an electric pump in preference to the mechanical one and that was with a standard head. prefer the controllability of an electric pump. Ported heads are an absolute no no as far as the rule book goes so won't be doing that. Every modified A series I have had ( and that amounts to quite a number) I have always binned the mechanical pump.

After a very long day, the seized donor engine is now stripped and the gearbox has been removed. It may look a mess at the moment but it will be fitted with all new seals and gaskets and a centre oil pick up pipe and hopefully won't jump out of second like my old one did. Give it a few days and it will be transformed (hopefully) Very Happy

After a hectic weekend interspersed with as hungover Sunday I managed to strip the gearbox down (bl**dy layshaft and oil pick up pipe are a pain) and hope to get it back together this week. Some bodywork jobs are on the cards for this week including cutting down the passenger door and fixing some dodgy welds. Very Happy
