Re: the big fettle
Perhaps we need to give your engine the magic 'Onslow Touch'! Let me know when you want the centre oil pickup pipe fitting and I'll pop round. Can't remember when we agreed to do this- our Facebook chat is a distant memory cos I was pi@@ed! - oops...

Re: the big fettle
Well, tomorrow is the day when the required bits are purchased and the magic can begin. To set the scene - imagine van gough when he was whipping up master pieces like the sunflower and mona lisa - now imagine me wielding spanners and hammers - the result will be a item of joy to behold ( or it will self destruct the first time i turn it over ) Good luck everybody

Re: the big fettle
A nice shift of old artists to the more modern ones but the picture in your minds is all the same - a superbly engineered flying machine

Re: the big fettle
Being an artist does that mean your gonna cut off one of your ears because your crash helmits to tight?

Sadly too true; banger driver Ryan Scott (team reject #76) is in hospital with serious head/brain injuries after an accident with a spanner at his workshop.

Not sure, read about it on facebook (no real details), apparently he's out of hospital now but has to have a brain scan on monday, so sounds fairly serious.
Re: the big fettle
JUst been to mini sport to get some new piston rings only to find out they have discontinued them rings cos the piston was made by rover in 1664 and now am looking to have to by new pistons - the wallet can't take much more of this

Re: the big fettle
Right - this engine has gotten a bit mental and I am now getting the engine rebored out to 1293 and the block decked on top of the new piston rings which means I will have to get the camshaft reprofiled and at some point new rockers and while I am at it I will have yo find some slicks to make the little beast go round the corners as fast as I hope it will go in a straight line This is taking over my life- The queen is getting some main bearing shells for valentine's for god sakes

Re: the big fettle
Sean, you are now starting to sound like Onslow, that is of course a good thing. Please dont mention brakes to anyone though, as Andy D will get a complex and start worrying about his trainers and if there is enough tread etc to stop him as he walks across the workshop.
