Re: #464 :P
was really impressed with the car on sunday, just time to start building up a mean engine to compete now
stickers have been on order for 4 weeks now, but hes struggling to get the graphix we want, but he will pull through.
them brake bia's valves seem to work a treat and the car handles better than ever.
i guess theres going to be added preasure starting from roof grade, but at least it gives me half a chance
thats all for now guy

Re: #464 :P
well, i thought the brakes were fine, seems not the pedal goes to the floor, and doesnt gain preasure when pumping the brake lines, so going to set to monday and source the problem,
full new tie bar, bottom arm & steering arm on the passanger side wheel, all adjustable & heavy duty
also baught some longer steering arms to cope with the camber
also ive added a bonnet scoop to try and give the engine some cooler air when moving.
ohh and abit of a wash, maybe a polish depending if i can be botherd
but will be out for next meeting eventually haha

Re: #464 :P
well after alot of ifs, buts & what ifs me and my dad have completley changed the set up of the mini, making it alot more stiffer & put more weight on the inside tyer to hopefully stop me loosing so much traction out of the corners.
we have also chopped out some barwork & found out the reason for a spungy brake pedal there was trapped air in the rear brake line.
were changing the steering to give me a better feel in the steering wheel & moving the seat down as its to high ..
& should be back out for championship day, as my dads on holiday next meeting.
hopefully all will go well & the change of set-up will make a differance.

Re: #464 :P
well , today me and dad cut off both side panels and most of the inner wings on both sides, were hoping to square them up so that it gives the wheels more clearance when on full lock ( Both ways )
we also cut out 1 or two bars that held the side plates on as they were really bent, so will be replacing them with two new pices,
we also plan to lower the full car by a considerble amount & get our new slicks put on and the old ones removed.
the seat needs lowering around 1" & were making a new steering collumn to make the steering smooth & notch free.
a new back box ( with a bit of look )
a new spray job & stickering
along with a nice new tricked out race engine so it will give me abit of a chance on keeping with people down the streights.
ill add pictures of what we did today abit later on .. thats all for now

Parts cost a fortune and Mini parts are fairly cheap, my cam, followers, springs, cam lube and timing disc came to 180.00 - ouch!

Re: #464 :P
all new steering set up finished, much easyer to drive and eliminates the 1/4 turn of the steering wheel
where noting turns as it was just play in the joints
now a list of what to doo
- rear suspension
- both side plates
- new dash
- new rear brakes
- new race engine
- lower profile slicks
- Re-spray & Graphix
& all of 6 weeks to have them done by for practise day
all will be done exept re-spray & graphix as pointless scratcing the stickers before race day & no doubt the engine wont be complete either
