well i hope your all enjoying my thread on prep towards the 2010 season ..
there should be some more pictures of painting my ( ap racing ) calipers .. & also stripping the rear drums down to make sure there working correctley ..
then to follow some pictures of fittin the guages when i recive them ..
& hopefully when it has all been painted and stickerd by ( Graphix-Signs ) who made a brilliant job last time he did it.

Re: #464 :P
ive widened my mini now, so the barwork actually sticks out over the wheels, attatched the sump guard, dismantled the rear brake set-up and checked it all over ...
painted calipers & rear drums red
also got 2 roof fins made at work out of 6mm aluminium just two pictures spent 3 hours adding the finishing structual work tonight ready for practise day
( bit of a dark photo )
new roof fins made just needs a good paint now

Re: #464 :P
haha, andrew fisher gave us a lift to warton, as we got into the village the pedal hit the floor meening only one thing ... clutch cable ..
all the barrow lads leaving the track stopped and made sure we was oki ..
probabley the " tustsy MOB " you saw me with haha ..
they had the power cap off e.t.c as its hard to scuffle around behind a 2 litre redtop in a corsa ...as there isnt much room between the block and the engine ..
& with the clutch cable beeing in such a Boll*ck of a place .. the power cap, induction pipe e.t.c all had to be removed

Re: #464 :P
got to change carb over today, as the one ive got onit at the moment wont let me change fule mixture be changed for some reason so will have to re-build the carb,
i have also found a 998 cc mini .. the engine has done 25,000 genuine miles & has had a new gear box at 18,000 miles, got traded in on the scrappage scheme by a 92 year old women, for a new pugeot 205 or something ...
so think i may have to go collect that some time this week

i cant see it janner, my tyers go off so early on, that on a full race distance ill be struggling, so need to get myself some slicks
im just going out this year to get used to the car & get it set up to corner how i want & get the brakes spot on, got a few tweeks to make
i.e
lift the front so the car sits about level, and raise the passanger side as it seems to be higher on the driver side for some reason,
also the passanger side front shocker needs stiffening as it was abit soft when i was coming into the bends.
but should be a good season, i wont make all the meetings because my dads working, so no doubt ill be there but without a car
Josh.

Re: #464 :P
few more up-dates on the mini today,
we noticed on sunday that the front of the car was lower than the rear, so weve streightend it up.
we also have lifted the passanger side a few mm's & stiffened the front passanger side shox.
just desperatley need some slicks for the beast now
dad has also started to re-build the 4 pot metro vented disks aswell, and we tryed the brake servo on for size,
looks like im going to have to make a custom clutch breather so that there is enough room for the
servo, but that will be done for next year
