As part of my ongoing research and development programme (and the fact that I am a fat tw*t) I am currently undertaking a weight saving programme - hence:

The block is now back from Minisport bored to 1293cc with new core plugs, cam bearings etc. and here it is!

Combine the two with the aid of a lump hammer, crowbar, angle grinder and blowtorch and you get this

Saw this on ebay, might be suitable;

Slow progress this weekend. The gearbox on my original engine is very badly worn and therefore am using another close ratio one from another GT engine I bought some time ago. Unfortunately as this had been sat in the back of some guy's garage for 10 years every sodding stud and bolt seems to be seized. I hope to have the box out by midweek and then put in new seals, gaskets etc. and fit the centre oil pick up pipe. Role on 2010!!!
